Gizmo Hasher

Thanks to Gizmo Hasher, calculating a file’s hash values is as easy as right clicking that file and selecting "Calculate Hash Values" from the right click context menu. That’s what this tool does: it integrates with Windows Explorer and thus lets you calculate hash values from the right click context menu.

Gizmo Hasher is part of a freeware application called Gizmo Central and, as you can see from the Quick Look video that accompanies this article, you can’t install Gizmo Hasher alone, you have to install Gizmo Central and Gizmo Hasher. There’s one more thing you need to know about: the "newest" Gizmo Central release dates back to April 2011, more than 6 years ago.

There are two ways of using Gizmo Hasher. Number one, launch Gizmo Central, open Gizmo Manager, and then select "Calculate hash values" under "What would you like to do?" And number two, simply right click a file and select "Calculate hash values" from the context menu. I think you will agree that the second method is a lot more convenient and, best of all, it works even when Gizmo Central is closed.

Gizmo Hasher provides support for multiple hash algorithms: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-2 [256,384,512], CRC32, CRC16, CRC16-CCITT, RIPEMD160, RIPMD128, MD4, MD2, HAVAL-5-256, GHASH-32-5, GHASH-32-3, GOST, SizeHash-32, FCS-32, FCS-16, and Tiger.

Alongside Gizmo Hasher, Gizmo Central features several other tools: Gizmo Drive, which lets you mount ISS images onto a virtual drive, Gizmo Script, which can execute functions based on a script, Gizmo Database, a query analyzer, and Gizmo Editor, a text editor and hex/binary editor.

Gizmo Central is freeware.
